Your decision-making style is...
The Overthinker
But wait! This doesn’t have to be a bad thing. You can get unstuck and make your style work for you.
You have a decision superpower!
Your brain is a powerhouse — it can spin out more possibilities in five minutes than most people see in a week.
The catch? When every option feels important, every choice starts to feel like a trap.
Instead of moving forward, you circle, analyze, and dig deeper… only to end up more tangled than when you started. It’s not that you don’t want to decide — it’s that your brain won’t stop chasing more options.
This makes total sense. Overthinking is your brain’s way of trying to keep you safe from regret, embarrassment, or failure. But ironically, the more you overanalyze, the less safe you feel — and the more drained you get.
The good news? You’re not doomed to spin forever! You can train your brain to notice when it’s stuck in loops, and redirect that energy into clearer, calmer choices.
Imagine using that same powerful mind to fuel confident action instead of endless spirals. That’s what’s possible for you.
Make the most of your style
When you’re not overthinking, you’re making thorough, deliberate choices.
You’re solving problems before they’re even a thing. You’re making good ideas better.
You’re basically a superhero.
And you can stay that way!
When you’re at your best, your Decision Style is really Superthinking.
And the more you own it, the more you’ll notice the benefits of operating how you do.
The next time you do a deep dive on the greatest plate of Cacio e Pepe in all of Rome, or a week-long investigation of the pros and cons of getting a Weiner Dog, put your cape on.
Decide it’s a situation that calls for your Superthinking Superpower and love every second of it.
Don’t judge it as too much or worry if you should be thinking less.
The key to making the most of your Decision Style is feeling in control of when you use it!
Your Solution
DECIDE WHAT’S IMPORTANT
For decisions to be less overwhelming, they need to be more manageable.
The fastest, easiest way to do that is to be honest when you do not, in fact, need to investigate all 413 alternatives and 6,798 possible consequences of the choice you’re considering.
To avoid this when it’s unnecessary, start asking “What’s important right now?”
This single question will uncomplicate ALL decisions.
It’ll help you respond to that voice in your head insisting you stress about something tangentially related to the choice at hand.
Might you need to address that thing if it becomes a problem? Sure.
But is it important right now, in this specific moment? You get to be in charge of that!
The more you decide what’s important — and what isn’t — the more you’ll chunk things up into manageable bites, take on one thing at a time, and keep overthinking from spiraling outta control.
You really will feel like a dang superhero when you stop yourself mid-rabbit hole (or mid-catastrophizing) and say something like:
“Know what? I have enough information to take the next step.”
“I don’t need to decide that right now. That choice can wait until I get there.”
“Here’s what’s important for this choice. DONE. Bam. Next.”
Decisions get easier when you trust yourself and take charge of your process.
